Hayes & Stolz patented `TR' Series Counterpoise Mixer is yet another advancement in mixing technology. Counterpoise by definition is an equivalent power or force that acts in opposition, a state of balance, for efficient material handling. This is what the counter rotating ribbons produce: a smooth, continual, flowing, intermixing of particles resulting in a balanced mixing action in the center of the mixer as well as end to end transfer of material. A dual reversing paddle arrangement mounted on the end of each ribbon spiral aids in transferring the material from side to side.

The H & S `E-Z' Blend, blender has a combination outer ribbon/inner paddle agitator, and is designed to provide low intensity, gentle mixing for applications requiring minimum product degradation. This mixer can be used for solids-to-solids or liquids-to-solids blending.
The H & S `DA' dual shaft and the `SA' single shaft paddle type agitators are designed to provide medium intensity mixing. For both solids-to-solids and liquid-to-solids blending of heavy or light materials. These mixers are also ideal for application of a de-dusting agent to dry product.
The `DA' agitator, also known as a pug mill, has counter-rotating shafts provided by oil-encased gears. The action of the counter-rotating paddles moves product from the bottom of the trough up each side and back down between the shafts, creating a kneading effect.
The H & S `L-56' High Speed Blender has a paddle type agitator and is designed to provide high intensity mixing for solid-to-solid or liquid-to-solid applications. The Hayes & Stolz Rotary Scalper removes oversize material from the product stream prior to further processing or storage.The product inlet directs material into the inclined, rotating screen cage. A gentle tumbling action allows product to pass through the screen into the collection hopper. Oversize particles will convey off the end of the screen into the overs discharge.
